Removal Checklist
There is plenty to think about before moving day, and is better to start planing your move well ahead.
Give appropriate notice of leaving to landlord - if that is you case.
We listed the most imprtant things you maight have to do before you move.
Packing
If you doing this yourself - order boxes. Label boxes with the details of their contents and the room in which they are to be placed at the new address. Pack heavy objects with the lighter ones: do not overstrain boxes or backs. Sort out rubbish. Sell unused items, or give them away.
Address change
Post Office - The Post Office prefers at least seven days notice for the redirection of your mail.
You will also have to notify some of the following:

- Credit/Store cards
- Standing Orders
- Schools
- Inland Revenue
- Premium Bonds
- National Insurance /DSS Benefits
- Pension
- Insurances
- Driving Licence
- Stocks and Shares
- Doctor /Dentist /Optician
- TV Licence
- Private medical
- Subscriptions
- Telecommunication/Mobile Phone Providers
- Council tax
Supplies
Arrange your move with you existig suppliers as:
- Electricity
- Gas
- Water
- Library
- Items on Loan
- Milk/Papers
- Dry Cleaning
Last 3 days
- Do last minute laundry, and if you planing on moving laundry mashine too, then make shure is drained out and then disconnected.
- Pack a bag with a change of clothes and essential toiletries. Include cash and a note of important telephone numbers. Keep it safe !
- Empty, defrost and dry out your fridge and freezer.
- Ensure that the keys for your new home are going to be available.
